Ticket #1292 (closed bug: fixed)
Investigate loading URLs with query string parameters
|Reported by:||zach||Owned by:|
Description (last modified by zach) (diff)
If you try to use a LOAD sendEvent to pass in a URL that has an ?token123456.mp4 type string in the URL the player won't load the file.
It seems that when sending in URL's using the JS API, the player does not read the mime type of the file, it tries to read the file extension.
You'll notice the file won't play (and give a bogus cross domain error). You'll also notice you have no problem watching the file http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.mp4?token123456.mp4 in your browser.
If you feed in the URL http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.mp4 it works.
I tired encoding the ? but got the same results.
The thing that really hurts is that Edgecast's security tokens use the same token structure.
